Ashley and Skott – Engagement, Wedding and Newborn

There's nothing better for me as a photographer than following a couple's journey through the biggest and happiest moments of their life. Especially a young family like Ashley and Skott.

The couple wanted to go somewhere local that meant something to them for their engagement shoot. We headed to the lovely Aberdeenshire village of Pennan which is just along the coast from their home. Its home to the famous telephone box featured in the Local Hero film and also The Pennan Inn We scored with the weather and as you can see these lovebirds made the most of the sunshine and the amazing backdrop.

Their wedding was held later that summer at Netherdale House - a glorious Aberdeenshire venue that just keeps getting better with all the improvements made recently.

Confetti, sun, swings, laughter, love and dancing were the order of the day and the vibe was fantastic. These two knew how to aprty and enjoy the stunning grounds and views that Netherdale offers. Having had a pre-wed shoot they were naturals in front of the camera and laughed much of the day. I always ensure my couples are relaxed and enjoying themselves and then the romantic, in th moment shots just come naturally.

There is no better message to receive from a former bride and groom but the one that says 'Baby is on the way - will you do our newborn photography?' I'm always thrilled and never tire of these life stories. For Ashley and Skott, baby Rori arrived 18 months later. She was pretty adorable and I we even got a few smiles. I cnat wait to see where Ashley, Skott and Rori's story will take them next. My camera is ready......
