For an Aberdeenshire wedding photographer, there are few wedding venues locally more charming than House of Schivas. Located 7 miles from Ellon and near the villages of Methlick and Ythanbank its ivy covered turrets and towers give the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. Engaged couple Hannah and Keith fell in love with it for this reason and many more. When they found out a new purpose built steading would be built they booked their wedding straight away. Wedding co-ordinator Nicola Baird sealed the deal for them too with her ‘can-do’ approach to running their special day. Schivas also has accommodation for wedding guests which helped convince Hannah and Keith this was the place for friends and family to gather.
Like most couples these days Hannah and Keith met online in 2015. After their first date in Aberdeen’s Wild Boar pub things took off from there and led to Keith’s romantic proposal at Loch Lomond in 2019. I met with them pre-lockdown to take some pre-wedding images and wander the grounds of Schivas House. Hannah and Ketih naturally bounce off each other and I wanted to capture this; have a look at the results.
I recently checked on the build for the steading and it had come a long way since I last saw it. Check out these artists impressions – having seen the site myself I can say its making great progress now the builders are back.
